Book your flight to Athens International Airport (ATH). Arriving at least one day before embarkation is strongly recommended, especially for international guests.
Stay in Athens
You do not need to stay near the port. Most guests will find Athens city center more practical, especially around Syntagma, Monastiraki, Plaka, Psirri, or Koukaki.
Reach Lavrio Port
On embarkation day, use the MMC shuttle from Athens city center or arrange a taxi, Uber, or FREENOW. The metro does not go all the way to Lavrio Port.

Where to stay in Athens
For most guests, Athens city center is more practical than staying near the port. Choose the area based on your travel style.
Syntagma
Central, practical, and a strong choice if you want easy access to the MMC shuttle meeting point and Athens transport connections.

Getting to Lavrio Port
Lavrio Port is outside central Athens, so plan your transfer in advance. The MMC shuttle is the easiest option for most guests.

Do I need to stay near Lavrio Port?
No. Most guests will find Athens city center more practical, especially if they want to enjoy the city before boarding or use the MMC shuttle from downtown.
Which airport should I use?
Use Athens International Airport (ATH). It is the main arrival airport for MMC guests.
Can I arrive on the same day?
Same-day arrival is not recommended for international guests. Flight delays, luggage delays, and transfer timing can create unnecessary stress. Arriving at least one day before embarkation is the safer option.
